Dolphins

A Dedicated page for the Dolphins that inhabit the Moray Coastal area.

The moray Firth is home to the Bottlenose dolphin which inhabits it’s waters in small pods of dolphins, In the summer moths especially the dolphins can be seen fishing close to the shore, and can easier be seen while safely standing on the shore, or for the more adventurous from one of the dolphin tour boats which run during the summer seasons.

Bottlenose dolphin are warm blooded mammals, who give birth to live calfs who stay with their mums for up to 4 years after being born. A dolphin can live for up to 50 years and a fully grown adult can be 4 metres long in length.
